The people of Southern Kaduna in Bakin Kogi Kaninkon community of Jema’a Local Council have said the community would need N218 million to rehabilitate over 109 houses destroyed by herdsmen during the bloody attack and killings in the area.

Mr. Zubairu Yohana, Chairman, Bakin Kogi Relief Committee, made an appeal to government and Nigerians for help yesterday, while conducting the Executive Director Care and Action Research (Care-NGO), Mrs. Joy Dogo, round the affected houses.

Yohana recalled that 15 residents were killed, while 109 houses were completely destroyed, and about 3000 residents rendered homeless. He told the NGO that most of the support from well-meaning Nigerians and NGOs were food items and clothes, adding that what the victims needed now is support to rebuild their homes.

“So far, the Founder of Fantsam Foundation, Prof John Dada has helped to rebuilt two of the destroyed houses, while a civil servant, Mr. Monday Barau donated about 218 bags of cement to the community.”
