Arsenal are now sitting pretty atop the English premier league table, after beating Sunderland 4-1 Saturday afternoon.
Sunderland’s Jermain Defoe in the 65th minute had cancelled Alexis Sanchez’s superb opening goal in the first half.
Petr Cech was booked after fouling Duncan Watmore after he raced through on goal, with Jermain Defoe scoring the penalty.
It took substitute Olivier Giroud, who came in on 69th minute to find winning ways for the Londoners and opened a goal rush in the second half.
Giroud scored with his first two touches of the match at the Stadium of Light.
The French striker, on his first Premier League appearance since returning from injury, hooked in Keiran Gibbs’ cross with his left foot before heading in his second from Mesut Ozil’s corner.
Sanchez cleverly poked the ball past Jordan Pickford to seal the win against bottom club Sunderland.
